Two Arrested After East London Security Guard Assault Goes Viral
Two individuals have been arrested after a video showing the assault of a security guard at eBuhlanti Marina Glen in East London went viral on social media.
Police confirmed that the suspects are facing charges of common assault and are expected to appear in court soon. Authorities have also stated that investigations are still ongoing and more arrests may follow as the case develops.

Following the public outcry, mining company Exxaro Resources confirmed that one of the alleged suspects is an employee of one of its contractors, Baagi Technology.

Exxaro said it does not tolerate behaviour that goes against its values and has immediately revoked the individual’s access to the company.
Exxaro Resources is aware of a circulating video depicting the recent assault of a security guard in East London.

Exxaro added that Baagi Technology is handling the matter urgently in line with its code of conduct. The company stressed that violence and abuse will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
