A 30-year-old Namibian woman was arrested at OR Tambo International Airport for smuggling suspected cocaine after swallowing over 60 bullets of the drug.
She was intercepted by a multidisciplinary team of SAPS, SARS customs, and immigration officials upon arrival from São Paulo.
The arrest was made based on intelligence provided by SAPS, making this the tenth drug mule arrested at the airport in two months.
The woman is under police guard as authorities continue the process of recovering the drugs.
