Limpopo Female Police Officer Arrested for Allegedly Killing Six People for Insurance Claims

A police officer stationed at the Senwabarwana police station in Blouberg, Limpopo, has been arrested for allegedly killing six people to claim more than R10 million in insurance payouts.
The 43-year-old sergeant insured the lives of her victims, who were mostly from disadvantaged backgrounds, before allegedly orchestrating their murders.
The suspect, who will appear before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Friday, had been under investigation following reports that she fraudulently benefited from funeral, accidental, and life insurance policies taken out in the victims’ names.
According to police spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe, the victims trusted the officer, making the crime even more heinous.
National Police Commissioner General Fannie Masemola condemned the officer’s actions, stating that such acts are a disgrace to the force and a breach of trust placed in law enforcement officers.
