UPDATE: The Mamelodi East community is demanding justice and answers after 34-year-old Sibongile “Sibo” Hadebe went missing on 19 May 2025.
Her family suspects a burnt body found days later may be hers, noting the body had a nose ring like hers. However, they are still waiting for DNA confirmation — a process they fear could take months.

Crime scene: Police say the remains were “reduced to bone,” indicating the fire was intense and likely deliberate. Forensic teams are working to establish the exact manner of death.
Primary person of interest: Sibongile’s boyfriend, still unaccounted for is a key figure in the investigation.
