Three Bodies Found in Hennops River Believed to Be Missing SAPS Officers

The South African Police Service (SAPS) has discovered three bodies in the Hennops River near Centurion, believed to be those of the three constables who went missing six days ago.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe confirmed the discovery, stating, “We have three bodies so far whose identities are yet to be confirmed. We are searching for another body and for any other evidence that will assist us in concluding the case.”

The scene near the N1 has been described as “very active,” with divers, police helicopters, and emergency services present.

While the identities of the bodies have not yet been confirmed, the families of the missing officers have been contacted and are being briefed by SAPS leadership.

National Commissioner Fannie Masemola has dispatched a team to support the families during this difficult time.
