SASSA SRD R370: How to Do Biometric Verification and February 2026 Pay Dates

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has shared guidance on how grant recipients can complete their SRD R370 biometric verification at local SASSA offices, ahead of the February 2026 payment dates.

Beneficiaries of the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant who have not yet done their biometric update are reminded that verification is necessary to continue receiving the monthly R370 payment. The biometric process confirms identity and helps prevent fraud.

Recipients can visit their nearest SASSA office to complete the biometric process. They must bring their South African ID book, ID card or smart ID card. SASSA staff will register fingerprints and other biometric details at no cost.

SASSA has said the biometric verification must be done well before the next payment cycle to avoid delays in receiving funds. Once verification is complete, beneficiaries should hear from SASSA about their updated status.

SASSA also released the February 2026 SRD payment dates. Payments are expected to go out in early February 2026 for qualifying recipients who have completed their verification.

Recipients who need help or have questions can contact SASSA directly at their local offices.
