A tragic double death has shocked Rotterdam Village in Hlanganani, Limpopo. Police opened a murder investigation after a 15-year-old girl was found murdered inside her father’s home on Christmas Day.
The teenager, Xilaveko Suke, was reported missing earlier in the week after she left home with her father, 45-year-old Peter Themba Baloyi to travel to Giyani. Police say her body had a visible stab wound.
Later the same day, the teenage girl’s house was set on fire, and police are also investigating that arson incident.
On 26 December 2025, Baloyi’s body was found hanging from a tree in nearby bushes, and an inquest docket has been opened to determine the circumstances of his death.
Police continue to investigate the murder and the father’s death.
