DJ Warras Murder Suspect Says Police Assaulted Him in Custody

The man arrested in connection with the murder of Warrick “DJ Warras” Stock has told a court that police assaulted him while he was in custody. DJ Warras was shot dead in the Johannesburg CBD on 16 December 2025.
Victor Mthethwa Majola, 44, appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on 25 December 2025. He is accused of murder and conspiracy to commit murder in the death of the popular DJ and media personality. The State has said it will oppose his bail application.
During the court appearance, Majola’s lawyer told the court that his client needed medical attention, saying Majola was assaulted by police when he was arrested at a Soweto hostel earlier in the week.
The defence said Majola suffered injuries to his body and hands and requires treatment.
Majola entered court limping and attempted to cover his face with a hoodie and scarf before being instructed to remove them.
His address must be verified before his bail application can proceed. The matter has been postponed to 6 January 2026.
Police investigations into DJ Warras’ murder are ongoing, and officers continue to seek additional suspects connected to the targeted shooting.
