DJ Warras Laid to Rest as Family and Friends Say Final Goodbye

Family, friends and colleagues have gathered to bid their final farewell to Warrick “DJ Warras” Stock, a popular radio and TV personality who was gunned down in broad daylight in the Johannesburg Central Business District last week.
The funeral service took place in Rosebank on Tuesday, 23 December 2025, where loved ones shared memories of Stock’s life and legacy.
Cultural elements were incorporated into the service, and his sons and pallbearers honoured him in traditional Zulu style, reflecting his heritage and the life he lived.

DJ Warras grew up in a small town in northern KwaZulu‑Natal and went on to build a successful career in radio and television, becoming a familiar voice on stations such as YFM, 5FM and Gagasi FM.
Friends and colleagues remembered him for his energy, humour, and ability to connect with people across cultures.
Police have arrested two suspects in connection with his murder. They are expected to appear in court, while a manhunt continues for additional suspects linked to the case.
Mourners described the emotional farewell as both a celebration of his life and a moment of deep sadness, underscoring the impact Warrick Stock had on the media industry and his community.
