Zambezi Building Locked Down After DJ Warras Shooting

The Zambezi Building in the Johannesburg CBD has been placed under lockdown following the fatal shooting of DJ Warras.
The building houses around 250 residents, with reports indicating that about half do not pay rent.
Police are questioning occupants as part of investigations into the events surrounding the day of the shooting.
Slain Warrick “DJ Warras” Stock had reportedly received threats linked to his work recovering hijacked buildings in the Joburg CBD, an issue he had spoken out about on social media.
According to Public Safety Mayco member Dr Mgcini Tshwaku, Stock had applied for multiple protection orders against non-paying tenants at the Zambezi Building before he was shot dead outside the Carlton Centre.
