Sasko Denies Bread Recall After Rat Found in Loaf
Sasko denies recall after Durban woman finds rat in bread

Sasko has confirmed the shocking discovery of rat remains in one of its loaves of bread but insists there has been no product recall.
Despite rumors spreading online, the company firmly denied reports that nearly 200,000 loaves were recalled or that production had been halted.
In a social media post, Sasko addressed the false claims, stating, “We confirm that no product recall has been issued, and the circulating posts are factually incorrect.”

The incident came to light when a woman bought a Sasko loaf on August 27 and, a few days later, discovered a rat baked into the bread while making toast.
She shared the disturbing find with her friends, with one of them identifying the object as a rat.
Sasko has acknowledged the isolated incident, stating that an internal investigation found no signs of rodent infestation or failures in their food safety systems.
The company emphasized that no similar complaints had been received and called this an “extreme and unfortunate” case.
As a precaution, Sasko has temporarily halted bread production at the facility involved while investigations continue.
The company assured consumers that they adhere to strict food safety regulations and continuously monitor their facilities to ensure high-quality products.
Sasko reiterated its commitment to resolving the issue and maintaining the safety and quality of its bread products.
