Music producer Nota Baloyi has turned himself in to the Randburg police following rape allegations made by a former Rhythm City actress.

In a tweet earlier today, Nota shared that he was heading to the police station, expressing his hope to clear his name.

Earlier this week, Nota spoke to ZiMoja, maintaining his innocence. “I didn’t do this; it was consensual. I hope the law takes its course. I wouldn’t rape anyone, and I believe that will be proven in court. I know the woman, but I’m sure I didn’t force myself on her.”

The actress, who remains unnamed due to the nature of the allegations, said she feels relieved that the case is progressing but is anxious about the legal process.

She shared, “I’m relieved there’s finally movement towards justice, but I’m anxious that the process will be fair and not swayed by public opinion.”

SAPS Gauteng spokesperson Colonel Mavela Masondo confirmed Nota’s arrest, stating that he will appear in court at the Randburg Magistrates Court on Monday to face rape charges.
